The Oceanic and Atmospheric Research’s (OAR) National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) is one of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) internationally known research laboratories, leading the way in investigations of all aspects of severe weather. The NSSL, in partnership with the National Weather Service (NWS), is dedicated to improving severe weather warnings and forecasts in order to save lives and reduce property damage. The mission of NSSL enhances NOAA’s capabilities to provide accurate and timely forecasts and warnings of hazardous weather events (e.g., blizzards, ice storms, flash floods, tornadoes, lightning, etc.).
The NSSL requires IT and technical support services for management, operation, and maintenance of IT systems in support of its mission. General IT support and project support for research and development of remote and in-situ sensing systems and creation of applications with the resulting data furthering the Laboratory’s research mission of understanding severe weather and improving the forecast capability of the NWS through better understanding of these weather events. Media support including but not limited to the design of technical media tools such as film, web, audio, etc. to promote the organization and/or its services to the community. This position requires the ability to solve issues independently and work with other administrators to guarantee transfer of knowledge of work through both written and oral communication. Strong customer service and organizational skills are also necessary.

DNI is looking to hire a maintenance supervisor to join our team. The DNI Security Specialist is responsible for supporting the management and compliance of personnel clearances for each company under DNI. This position shall be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the department. Some items could include distributing tasks amongst the team, handling lower-level issues within the department, and assigning/maintaining workloads. The Study of the U.S. Branch is responsible for planning and overseeing a variety of academic exchange programs including the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (YALI), Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Student Leaders and Scholars, and the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). Both the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders and the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative were started under the leadership of then-President Obama and continue in their high-profile capacity today. Each year, the YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship brings up to 700 to 1,000 young African leaders to the United States for six-week academic and leadership Institutes; the YSEALI Academic Fellowship brings up to 500 young leaders from Southeast Asia for five-week academic programs; and the SUSI program brings approximately 600 foreign undergraduate students and scholars from around the world for five-to-six week academic programs on themes related to U.S. studies.
